Sextons of Fun | Kailey and Corey’s Wedding

Kailey and Corey in Winter Park

We’re so excited to introduce you to one of our former clients, Kailey, and to recount the story of her beautiful (and oh-so-much-fun) summer wedding two years ago!

On June 3, 2017, Kailey Miller became Kailey Sexton* when she married her hilarious now-husband, Corey. Their gorgeous, tropical-meets-modern-glam wedding took place right here in Winter Park, FL – the bride’s hometown – and even the Central Florida heat and summer thunderstorms could not ruin this stunning day. The bride and her family chose Overeasy Events to make their vision for the weekend a reality and we’re thrilled that we were able to do just that.

Kailey writes, “Hiring Lora to help with the planning and coordination of my wedding was one of the best decisions we made. She helped me sort through my ideas to create my perfect wedding day. She met with us on many occasions to make sure she really understood my vision and then guided me through the process of bringing my ideas together. She thought of details I would never have considered and so, when the wedding day came, I had nothing to worry about besides marrying my husband!”

Kailey’s vision included luxurious pops of rose gold, as much greenery as could fit into each space, and the comfort and charm of Park Avenue and Winter Park where she’s spent the majority of her life. We really wanted all of these components to highlight another incredibly unique aspect of this wedding – the wedding gown designed and handmade by the bride herself!

Kailey’s love of playful florals and soft, gray-purple hues mixed with her affinity towards a modern twist in décor and accents made for a stunning day at both the Women’s Club of Winter Park (ceremony) and the Winter Park Community Center (reception). We helped Kailey and her family to select complementary vendors such as Porch Therapy for the florals and Tara McGovern for the photography because it’s important to take into account how your vendors will enhance one another to assist in creating the exact event “vibe” that you desire!

Kailey’s ceremony was a tremendous celebration of her love for Corey, his love for her, and their mutual love and faith in the Lord. There was not a dry eye in the audience as they sang their first worship song as a married couple and recited their vows. Then, after some fun pictures on Park Ave’s picturesque brick roads, the couple and their crew made their way to the reception for an absolutely delicious dinner buffet, thanks to Cuisiniers, and scrumptious desserts, thanks to P is for Pie. Kailey opted for some non-traditional entertainment and hired Orlando Dueling Pianos so that guests could dance to an upbeat mix of classics and new favorites after dinner. Not surprisingly, the guests didn’t leave the dance floor until it was time for the newlyweds to make their grand exit for the evening, which wouldn’t have been complete without glowing peacock rings – a favor that highlighted Winter Park’s majestic mascot!

Kailey’s mom, Lucia, had this to say about working with us on her daughter’s special day: “We had such a high level of comfort working with Lora. It helped to make our daughter’s wedding day much more relaxed. Just knowing that she and her staff were taking care of the details so we could be focused on enjoying the day.”

We were honored to serve as Kailey’s planner, crisis manager, stylist, and more throughout her wedding planning process and during the weekend of her big day!

*If you recognize Kailey’s name, it may be because we worked so well together that we decided to bring her onboard our Overeasy Events team last year! Look for her when you’re planning your next event!
