While we do plan and coordinate many a wedding (and love doing it!), we also work on other types of event planning as well – including corporate event planning. Over the past few years, Chepenik Financial has trusted Overeasy Events with planning for their Happy Hour event to kick off their annual 4.01k Race for Financial Fitness™, benefitting Junior Achievement at Quantum Leap Winery. With close to 100 guests in attendance, our role has been to ensure that the presentation and display is beautiful, that delicious catering from Cuisiniers runs smoothly, and that other vendors like valet parking and music are in place to add to the professional ambiance of this fun event.

Guests were greeted by representatives from VIP Valet upon arrival and then Steven Miller Photography did an excellent job of capturing the warm, inviting feel of this wine-centered event. Guests were free to wander about the venue and enjoy menu selections such as charcuterie du jour, fried green tomatoes, chicken & biscuits, Maryland crab cakes, and brisket or beef sliders. All the while, musician Joseph Meadows of Brown Bag Entertainment entertained guests with a three-piece band (on Instagram @brownbagb).

In 2017, the menu included other delicious eats such as sugar cane skewered tuna, empanadas de carne, and chicken burger sliders, again thanks to the fabulous Cuisiniers. The entertainment was musician John Frank (you can find him on Instagram at @johnwfrank).

In 2017, an exciting part of the event was the release of Jean Chatzky‘s book, Age Proof: Living Longer Without Running Out of Money or Breaking a Hip. Jean, Financial Editor of NBC’s TODAY Show was in attendance at the event as a celebrity spokesperson and ‘coach’ for the race. This year, Jean returned to share her newest book, Women with Money: The Judgement-Free Guide to Creating the Joyful, Less Stressed, Purposeful (and Yes, Rich) Life You Deserve. Jean signed copies of her book and greeted guests as they enjoyed the event.

To ensure that Chepenik Financial was able to fully enjoy this event, before and during, Overeasy Events’ staff was present to create a seamless event and to make sure that no detail was left out. We provided an on-site Event Coordinator to manage the day-of event setup and to create a memorable experience for the guests and organizers from conception to completion.

Another member of the Chepenik Financial team remarked, after the event: “Thanks so much! What an amazing event. Everything was perfect.”
